What is BellRMF?
BellRMF is alightweight, cloud-based middleware that helps robot fleets share tight building spaces—like lifts, doors, and narrow hallways—without giving up their autonomy. It’s built to be simple and easy to integrate.
Why another RMF?
OpenRMF was designed for hospital-scale traffic under a central planner.
In typical buildings that host just one cleaning robot or one delivery fleet, that complexity becomes friction:
- DDS multicast fails across sub-nets and VPNs.
- Every robot must ship a ROS 2 fleet-adapter and re-model its map.
- A global task engine over-controls vendors who already have their own dispatch logic.
BellRMF keeps the good idea—shared-resource scheduling but discards everything that slows developers down - favoring simplicity, flexibility and autonomy.
